In this weeks study of the behavior of people in an elevator, we noticed that the problems with elevator close and open buttons that are mentioned in the design of everyday things are pretty accurate. On several occasions someone was trying to keep the doors open for someone who was rushing to run in was unable to find the correct button. The fact is the buttons simply aren't clear enough. On one occasion I actually failed to press the correct button and I had already spent an hour in that exact elevator. Other than that observation we mostly just jotted down notes on what other people in the elevator did.
