Ethnography Results: Week 2

We ended up changing our idea to investigating the culture inside an elevator. There are numerous quantitative things we can study such as

How many people stop talking when entering the elevator?
How many people talk in a different language when in the elevator?
How many people ask what floor you are going to?
How many people hold the door on the elevator?
How many people talk on the phone in an elevator?
etc..

The more interesting part of our ethnography is the qualitative portion. An elevator is like its own small environment in which people are forced to interact. Even if you are not speaking to a person, the way they behave in an elevator is sure to change just because you are there. Whats more they are forced to deal with you because there is no where to go until they reach their stop. I believe we will find out a lot about peoples culture in an elevator.
