Reference Information:
Title: Emotions Experienced by Families Living at a Distance
Authors: Hyesook Kim, Andrew Monk
Venue: CHI 2010

Summary:
This paper discusses how family members feel when they are separated by long distances. While the paper does not offer any actual device to aid family members living far apart, the authors discuss how gathering information about the families could ultimately aid in making a better device. The authors conducted several interviews and studies in order to describe the emotions that families felt about certain memories and situations. All information gathered will hopefully be put to use in another paper describing a device tailored to these families.

Discussion:
This paper seemed incredibly pointless. Not only is there a lack of describing any device that could help these families, but all the information gained is incredibly obvious. The entire paper can practically be summarized by saying "did you know loving families are sad when they are separated?"
